Updated Animation with Lights/Textures

I updated the animation with improved lip sync, head motions, and expressions. I also lit this version and have a first pass at the textures. Right now the eyes still aren't quite textured how I would like, and the hair looks too much like plastic, but they are getting there.

Further Rig and Rough Motion

This week, I improved the rig. I added buttons to perform blinks and position the clusters into different phonemes. Also, I recorded the sound and started a rough motion pass. It greatly needs work, but it is a start. I have only placed lip sync and some eye motion, and I have yet to block in facial expressions.

******Here is a playblast of the motion:

Here are images of some of the phoneme positions:

Expressions

Marie Antoinette is getting rigged! Currently, she has a basic bone structure that has a general control for moving the whole model. There is a neck control for moving the head and a jaw control for opening and closing her mouth. Additionally, (and cut off in these pictures) is a control for moving the eyes. You can move them both together or each separately. The eyes will stay focused on one point even if the neck moves the head.

I am planning on having the primary facial control be done with clusters which are also being set up. I have fairly good control over the mouth, and I have a general cluster control on the eyelids as well as one on each eyebrow. I will add more control to these areas as well as some cheek clusters. At the moment, though, she can raise her eyebrows and blink.

To make this expression, I have raised her eyebrow clusters, moved her eyes, and tilted her head with the neck control.

Here, I manipulated the mouth clusters to get an 'aaa' phoneme.

Here, I manipulated the mouth clusters to get an 'mmm' phoneme.
Here is a blink with the eyelid clusters.

Here, I have opened the jaw in an 'i' phoneme.

To make this expression, I manipulated the eyebrow clusters and tipped the head with the neck control.
